About the Friends
For more than 3 decades, the Friends of the Corunna branch of the Community District Library forwarded initiatives that support the Library in various ways. The Friends are a vital organization to The Community District Library by spearheading fundraising efforts, volunteering, and advocacy. The Friends organization holds 501(c)(3) status with the Internal Revenue Service.
Friends value public libraries as cultural, educational, and recreational centers and contribute their time, effort, and the resources of their organization to further develop the libraries' potential as a dynamic force in our community.
It's good to have a friend, and very good to BE one! For more information about joining the Friends, check out their brochure for more details.
The group meets monthly at the library on the 3rd Tuesday at 9am.
Sources of Funds
Friends Used Book Store: The Friends operate a used books store that sells books of all genre types and for patrons of all ages. The book store is staffed entirely by volunteers and stocked by book donations from the community. Sales benefit a wish list of items for the Corunna branch.
Used Book Sales: The Friends typically host two large book sales each year (May and October) in conjunction with a bake sale. Used materials are collected as the Community District Library removes items from its collection and through donations from the community.
