Larry Martin's World War II: In Their Own Words is based on one man's dedication to sharing the stories and experiences of veterans of WWII.  Over the past 20 years, Larry has interviewed more than 80 veterans of the second World War and his mission is to educate people about the significance of this tragic and important event in our nation’s history.

Martin's program will feature his interview and story of Colin McKenzie, a Detroit native who was aboard the USS Pennsylvania during the attack on Pearl Harbor December 7th, 1940 where he was badly injured.   Colin was later transferred to the USS Thompson which was involved in heavy fighting on D-Day, June 6th 1944. The USS Thompson transported US’s top generals and admirals including General Eisenhower, Arnold and Admiral King.
